Diploma in Pharmacy (D. Pharma)
D.Pharma is a diploma-level course for candidates who wish to pursue pharmacy and choose medicine as the career option. Diploma in Pharmacy is a two-year full-time course designed to prepare aspirants to work under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist in hospitals, community pharmacies, and other pharmaceutical-related fields. The program includes application of chemistry in the pharmaceutical industry, toxicology, pharmacology and concepts of biochemistry. The course is a beginning to the career of the aspirants wishing to pursue pharmacy.
Objective of the ‘D. Pharma’ Course
The objective of the course is to equip a student with necessary skills as per following job role.
Eligibility for D. Pharma
The subject combination required in the qualifying examination (intermediate examination of U.P. Board or 10+2 level examination or its equivalent) for admission to first year of different courses shall be as follows:
Compulsory Subjects: Physics & Chemistry
+
Any One Subjects: Mathematics/ Biology
For admission to the first year of B.Pharm, candidates must have passed Intermediate Examination of U.P. Board or its equivalent with Physics and Chemistry as Compulsory subjects along with Mathematics/ Biology subject.
Course Duration
D. Pharm stands for Diploma in Pharmacy. It is a 2 Years course. After completing the course, graduates will obtain the ‘Diploma in Pharmacy’ degree. After obtaining this Diploma, students may start own business.
